Privacy policy
How Shark Labs handles the small amount of personal data this site collects. Last updated 17 August 2026.
The short version
Shark Labs collects your details only when you submit an enquiry form, uses them only to reply to that enquiry, and sets no tracking cookies. Traffic is measured with cookieless analytics that cannot identify you. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared beyond the infrastructure providers listed below.
Who we are
Shark Labs is a software studio operating from Bengaluru, India. For any question about this policy or about data we hold, email hello@sharklabs.tech — it reaches a person, not a ticket queue.
What we collect
Two things, and nothing else.
Enquiry details, when you submit a form
- Name, email address and phone number — required, because we need a way to reply.
- Company name, the service you're interested in, and your message — optional. A blank field never costs you a reply.
That is the complete list. We don't ask for anything else, and the form doesn't quietly collect anything the fields don't show you.
Anonymous traffic measurement
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading performance. Both are cookieless and do not build a profile of you across sites or sessions. We can see that a page was viewed and how quickly it loaded. We cannot see who viewed it.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
| Data | Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry details | To reply to your enquiry and discuss the work | Steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract |
| Enquiry details, afterwards | Records of who we've spoken to and about what | Legitimate interest in running the business |
| Anonymous analytics | Understanding which pages are useful | Legitimate interest — no personal data is processed |
What we never do
- We don't sell or rent your data. To anyone, ever.
- We don't add you to a mailing list. Submitting an enquiry subscribes you to nothing. There is no newsletter.
- We don't run advertising or retargeting pixels. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn Insight tag.
- We don't share your enquiry with third parties, other than the infrastructure providers below who store it on our behalf.
Where it's stored, and who can see it
Enquiries are stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Access is restricted to the service credentials held by this site's server; the database denies all access by default and no credential is ever sent to your browser.
| Provider | What they handle |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting this website and cookieless analytics |
| Supabase | Storing enquiry records |
Both may process data outside India, including in the EU and the United States. Where personal data of EU or UK residents is transferred, it is done under the providers' standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become projects: kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Enquiries that become projects: kept for the duration of our work together and for 6 years afterwards, which is the period Indian tax and contract records must be retained for.
- Analytics: aggregated and anonymous, retained by Vercel under their own retention policy. There is nothing in it that identifies you.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email us and we'll action it within 30 days, usually the same week. We won't ask you why.
If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to request your data in a portable format, and to complain to your national data protection authority. If you're in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act gives you broadly equivalent rights and we handle those requests the same way.
Changes to this policy
This policy was last updated on 17 August 2026. If we change what we collect or why, we'll change this page and update that date. We won't quietly broaden it.
